INTEGRATED PROGRAMME FOR SENIOR CITIZENS: (Senior Citizen Home / Old Age Home)

With the Kind support and guidelines from the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Govt. of India we are running a senior Citizens Home at Toopranpet, Choutuppal of Yadadri Bhuvanagiri District, with 25 senior citizens and also established (For 50 Women) Centers at,   Surviyapet, and Dornkal of Mahabubabad district (New Centers ) of Telangana, and Bhopal, Sehore of Madhya Pradesh. The main objective is to improve the Quality of life of the Senior Citizens by providing basic amenities like shelter, food, medical care, and entertainment/recreation opportunities free of cost in a Home-based approach for destitute elders Senior Citizens also to build and strengthen intergenerational relationships particularly between children/youth and senior citizens. For this Old Age Homes presently we are taking support from donors in different sector people (They are contributing in the form of Kind – like Rice, Dal, Medicines, Provisions, etc. )

There has been a study rise in the population of Senior citizens in India, from 1.98 Cr. in 1951 to 10.38 Cr. in 2011. In recent times, society is witnessing the decline of the joint family system, as a result of which a large number of parents are being neglected by their families exposing them to a lack of emotional, physical, and financial support. The elder persons are facing a lot of problems in the absence of adequate social security.  This clearly reveals that aging has become a major social challenge and there is a need to provide for the economic and health needs of the elderly and to create a social milieu, which is conducive and sensitive to the emotional needs of the elderly.
